GO with Your GUT...

Image
...When picking your path to find the missing pieces of your HEART! I am asked quite often " Who should we pick for an agency/ attorney etc?" "What do you think about fostering to adopt?" " What worked for your family?" All legitimate questions and guess what- the ANSWER is different for each person and family! Gavin at 5 days old after placement I wish I had a rote answer- it might be easier that way but, honestly, my advice is to SEARCH out the agency, facilitator, attorney, foster program and ponder on what you are being led to. If you pray- do that too- a lot! With our last adoption, I found the agency on the Internet and then I asked a colleague of mine what He thought ( he has been working in the adoption field for 30+ years) about this particular agency. He had great things to say about ethics and good practice of adoption laws. I researched them more, prayed about it, and reached out to them to see if they'd even be interested in ...

SUPER FUN! Aria's B-day Party/ UFA friends SPLASH PARTY

Image
WE had a blast- soaking each other, trying out the 90 ft slide, having BBQ and snow cones, playing water games and just being together!      Aria got horse riding lessons and a bike for her birthday- she was so excited! Her friends had fun and our UFA peeps joined in too!         I don't often combine my family/ friends events but, this one was just great and HEY, my friends through adoption are always invited! Once I meet you and we hit it off- we are friends forever! It's crazy how our adoption community is so tight knit and so supportive too!   After a few tries the guys figured out that the more water and soap we had as we went down the hill, the FASTER we went! Great Job Men! So glad we got to have our new friends and old friends here that day! I look forward to more events ahead! God Bless!

Summer is in FULL swing and in a few days CAMPS and lessons start up! We had a wonderful vacation ( which I will post about soon) and the kids are loving the gorgeous weather here in Evergreen. Today they decided to play in the tiny creek and have a mud fight!!! ( followed by a hose down). The fun camps ahead are Adventure camp, Mad science- sleuth/ detective camp/ Archery lessons for both girls/ swim lessons and gymnastics for Gavin! I'm excited and can't wait to see what these sweet children learn. Here's some updated pics from the wedding of the kids ( more about the wedding to come!) BRIELLE SLADE    GAVIN     ARIA

Jessica and Brielle getting some Quality coloring and bonding in! I love this head shot! It signifies the arms and life that Brought Gavin into this world before he was brought into ours! WE LOVE Our Birth Family and are so honored to have adopted again! We often wonder what the future Holds and How long before the Lord brings another child into our family! We are in no rush at all but, we know our family is not complete yet. That may sound odd to some but, what lies in your heart and in your soul about your family, is individual and sacred to each couple. We will act upon our inspiration and follow th...

Gift Giving!

Image
I have posted on this before and i wish to post on it again in a different light! I found a perfect article that sums up my feelings about gift giving! If you read my last post about this. I told you that i really don't like gifts, getting things that are meaningless, or just random stuff. I like them to be thoughtful and heartfelt or something i really needed/wanted! I've been gearing up for the holidays and on our last FSA CENTRAL meeting call i found this article by Henry B. Eyring and He gave it the year I was born. 1982 ( yeah, I'm almost 30!) And I love what he says... "Great gift-giving involves three things: you feel what the other feels ; you give freely ; and you count sacrifice a bargain." I thought about that in the context of adoption. And about Expectant Parents who choose to place. As they are looking at so many profiles of couples hoping to adopt a baby. they FEEL for US. Adoptive Couples fe el for what our birth parents may be going through...

These are my friends Jessica & Tarik! They are Christian and wonderful and hoping to adopt a bi-racial baby boy! Check out their profile ( i took many of the pictures:) They are working through Lifetime adoptions , which i hear is great! I know this sweet family will be fabulous with any adoption situation too! Jessica has 4 adopted siblings and her and Tarik have twin girls and he is a pediatrician and she stays at home. Both have degrees and stay active and fit! Just love these too!
