Colorado Springs and more...

So last weekend we went to Colorado Springs to support our friends who are doing the Embryo Adoption Program with a Fertility Center there! We wanted to go so badly to King's Chef Cafe and try some Green Chili burgers or whatever, really. we saw this Diner on the Food Network Channel and have always wanted to go. So, we GPS'd it and it took us to the wrong location. So, we re-routed to the actual location and come to find out- there was a very large ST. Patty's Parade going on!!! This made us have another LONG detour as we took side streets everywhere. The girls were hungry and ready to get out of the car already! So, after parking 4 short blocks away. We got out and the girls enjoyed the parade for a bit! After that- they were really hungry and so were we. We almost WENT the wrong way to find the cafe but, thanks to a nice dude who was also going there- we redirected and found it! What a relief! And the Green Chilies were mighty potent! and that made us all have crazy fac...

Birth mother Quotes and thoughts!

Image
Here are some great quotes on adoption and birth parenting... He is mine in a way that he will never be hers, yet he is hers in a way that he will never be mine, and so together, we are motherhood. ~desha wood Jennifer Bouchard Doane, Birthmother and Lifemother. "A Birthmother puts the needs of her child above the wants of her heart" Skye Hardwick founder of "Life Mothers" My baby was my gift to the world to show everyone strength in innocence and purity, and one day I pray my baby will come home to me to tell me of his journey that I can take with him. By: Sarah Sowell Gave birth to her son April 21st 2004 Open Adoption If you love someone unconditionally and with your whole heart, then you will do what is best for them, not you. I have never learned a harder lesson than giving my child up for adoption, and I probably never will. Talitha Birthmother twice over I once heard a girl who had decided to parent her child s...

...We Used to be COOL!" That song really makes me reach back to those wonderful memories of what we were like in High School. SO, here's a TAD about Our past lives... Brandon : During HS He played baseball, tennis, wrestling, & bowling at Rancho High . He was a bat boy for many years to the LV 51's( triple A) team and got tons of autographs and experiences from that. He dated only a few girls and had a girlfriend for about 2 years. He finished his Eagle Scout at 14 and He loved fantasy books an Historical novels. Brandon was always a leader and loud mouth. He had BIGGER friends to back up his BIG words too. He was a great guy and he stood up to others when they were doing wrong things. He has always been close with his parents and his Little Brother looked up to him in everything he did. Brandon even sold candy in HS to buy the things he wanted. He had others selling candy for him and was a great entrepreneur . Overall, He loved HS and enjoyed his youth doing things...

...life likes to throw you a few curve balls . And I feel like I have a few of them coming at me right now. I have been patient for a long while but, this is the 3rd time one of the girls is sick in 2 weeks. Can't sickness just be gone after one round? I swear i detoxed the house to the point of my fingers cracking already. And our SUV is still in the shop and it's almost been a MONTH. I want to strangle my insurance company . Why are they waiting to release such a measly amount to the repair shop? I'm so fed up and switching from them after they pay up. GRRR! And we are trying to find a new 5 bed or more, home by May and i feel like everything I'm seeing is way too far or way too run down or nice but in a crappy part of town. Sorry for venting on my Sunshines-out-our-rear blog but, reality is what it is and love it or hate it, it's ours! So, Hopefully, We will get our Navigator back by next week and my girls will be done being sick and no major catastrophes...

Our Daughter's Birth Grandparents and Birth family! Today Grandpa Phil & Grandma Dawn sent us some See's Valentine's treats!!! It was so unexpected and the girls and myself were so excited and I have to just say a public THANK YOU to them. Not Only Is Kara ( b's BM) in our lives but, her WHOLE family is and it makes me choke up thinking about how different our lives would be if we had chosen semi-open or even closed adoption. I am so glad we will not choose those with any designated (where someone chooses us) placement we may have. I know that I can't expect the same relationship with our future placements but, i am not going to lie... I HOPE that we will get to build strong loving bonds with our future birthmom and her family. I'd love to see the birth father's side too- if that is at all possible but, not to the detriment of our amazing future birth mom, of course:) I know that VERY OPEN adoptions are not for everyone. I just know that Brandon a...

this trip was a bit different... since we went in the winter, we hit up most of the inside exhibits! and played a bit outside too! and went with our awesome friends!!! the girls wanted to stay at the zoo, even if they had to climb a tad to have their own space . We said no, of course! some monsters liked the kids the monkeys were hilarious! It was great having Uncle Todd ( my single, older brother) with us too! He lives in SD , where they have a fabulous zoo too! He said this one was pretty great too! We wore the girls out and they all slept well on the ride home. We picked up Cafe Rio that day for dinner. The sweet pork is delectable! It was a GREAT wintry day!

...here in CO! And we are having such fun with all the snow !!! Except when we are talking about my inexperienced driving skills! Yep, the truth is coming out folks ! I SLID on the ice and my tires hit the curb. It was super scary but, i was going slow enough no major damage happened. I busted our wheel and baring and that's about it and it took 2 weeks to get that all fixed ! I thankfully have many great friends who lent us their extra car while all the repairs were being made. ( em and trev) So, the fun stuff now... We LOVE to sled and make snow angels and anything we can do in the snow! Emily and i even jumped on the tramp with 6 inches of snow on it! It was chilly but, hilarious!!! Today was the 2nd REAL snowfall this winter and now that my Navigator is back, i plan on driving like a granny and keep my 4WD on!!! I love how the snow makes everything so clean and bright. It's so romantic, peaceful, heavenly and freakin' freezing . Everyone tells me ther...

Please look at our old family Blog for all the details on her adoption and her life thus far! click on Brielle or adoption day:) And now, We Wait for Another Miracle through Adoption! She is the best Big sister and any child that comes into our family will have an older sister to relate to. Not to mention an Amazing Father( Brandon) who is also adopted. I'm so blessed and i hope we can all bless the next life that finds it's way into our family! Adoption is a Miracle and everyday I'm grateful for it! Especially today!
