Way overdue!

SO... myself, Slade and Brielle all had Birthdays this month! Slade is now 1- i can't believe it! I seriously and holding him and knocking him over when he stands so, he will just crawl longer and stay a baby longer ( okay not really knocking him- just not encouraging walking) It seems like weeks ago- He was just born. We were going to name him TROY or SHANE but, neither stuck! He was a large 8 lbs 14 oz. and a few hours shy of 42 weeks. He is a bundle of joy in every way! I will miss every part of His tiny-ness when he grows- just as i Miss all my kids being babies. I have to say- that Slade is the most cuddly baby we have had- and so chill ( except for hen he is teething!) I was looking back at Brielle's photos too...  Her  3rd bday!  Her first haircut after SHE first cut her hair!  After we moved to CO- she was 4.5 Brielle is about 5.5 here before we moved to our current home.  SHE IS A DIVA! And we are so blessed by her...

hoping to adopt in CO!

Image
These are my friends Jessica & Tarik! They are Christian and wonderful and hoping to adopt a bi-racial baby boy! Check out their profile ( i took many of the pictures:) They are working through Lifetime adoptions , which i hear is great! I know this sweet family will be fabulous with any adoption situation too! Jessica has 4 adopted siblings and her and Tarik have twin girls and he is a pediatrician and she stays at home. Both have degrees and stay active and fit! Just love these too!

catching up on ( one post at a time)

So... we are STILL in vacation mode and enjoying my older brother, Todd's company! He's an awesome uncle! Christmas day and Eve were both fun and special and i will have to write even more pretty shortly here about all of it! No snow though- you'd think living in CO you'd have a white Christmas. Oh, and I'm getting older too. In less than 2 weeks I hit the last year of my twenties- kind of frightening but, I'm great with it. I love where my life is and don't wish to change a thing. Well, except i wish we could have a son and another daughter in the near future. But, God knows more than i do and knows what We need as a family right now. more to come... for now we are enjoying our TWO little sassy angels!!! stay tuned!

placement #2

Here's the link to the Sunday Placement Family ! Congrats to Mike, Maryanne, Chelly and Little Baby Gabriel or Jacob ( what ever they decided:) PS... Open Adoption Is the BEST! ( in my opinion)

What a week...

Image
Last week was so AMAZING and long . With 2 placements within 5 days and all the other day to day stuff i do with my girls and husband- it got a bit crazy BUT... I LOVED IT and i wouldn't trade it for the world! I Put up some Placement pics and hospital pics of Jessica on my photo site - so check those out. The 2nd placement will be on there shortly!!! PS. Birth Parents ROCK!!! Brielle's Birth mom turned 22 last week. Brielle made her some art and sent her a bag of candy corns b/c she said she wanted Kara to have treats on her Birthday! I sent her a SPA Day package for her to get pampered at a local spa( where she lives)! WE LOVE her and her whole family and miss them a ton but, GOOD NEWS... Looks like we will get to see them around Thanksgiving!!! We also hosted a B-day Party for our little friend , Cora, who turned 7! She has been so fun to get to know and a bunch of us moms and teachers are rallying around her to let her know of our love for Her! Her bio- mom is an addict ...

what a few days we've had

Image
WOW! I feel like we are constantly on a roller coaster in our lives right now. I love to think that one of these weeks i will be less busy with things BUT, i find that to be totally a DREAM. IN FACT... I DON'T want to be less busy. I just want to be busy with different things like busy with a new child or baby, busy with MORE adoption work and helping others. Busy with doing FUN things with my girls or more dates with my husband! I feel like everything that's occupying our time is leading us up to something. You know like when you reach the top of a ladder or the top of a roller coaster and you here the clack, clack, clack right befo re the coaster throws you over the hump and you whiz down the chutes and through a tunnel then it throws you upside down and finally- you get to the part where it's starting to slow down to let you off the ride. Except we are still at the clack, clack part right before we are tossed in the air and down the side-winding turns of the life. Let...

New ADOPTION Binks!

Image
I love that my friend, Danielle, swaps me cool binks for my boutique products. The last order had some new ones all about adoption that were inspired from the adoption community and I had been desirous to have cool pacifiers that expressed OUR LOVE for ADOPTION ! Today was a Super busy day with lots of cool and crazy things... I biked 3 miles+ uphill pulling 80lbs in the trailer (kids and stuff) to scripture class and back. The downhill was a breeze, Took Aria to preschool, cleaned my car, then myself, picked up Aria, made dinner for the missionaries, Brandon locked his keys in our car- in front of our house. Had dinner, went to YW Volleyball practice and had my new friend Rachel help coach the girls- She's AWESOME (and and adoptee who will be speaking at the upcoming fireside in November. Then came home, put girls down, made clips and finished a few other projects- I AM BEAT! Time to sleep now. I deserve the break BUT,... before i doze off I'm sure I'll read over some ad...

FSA Park day

Image
Splash Parks are sooo much fun! Here's the girls and some other kids from our last FSA playgroup. We totally think it's grand to have our kids around other children who are adopted well. As they grow in life they will have something to relate to with these friends that no other friends can understand! Having a birth mother and birth parents/family, a gotcha day, the day they were sealed to us etc... Such special wonderful things! WE LOVE FSA! I have no idea why Brielle played camera shy during splash time! Aria had way too much fun and my fav. part was being chased around by the girls with cups of water that they could barely throw on me. Most of the water would splash out as they were running! It was a HOOT!

the creek

Image
down at the park is our fav. place to catch Crawdads! One of the last times we caught these 5!!! The girls LOVE to show them to the other kids and try and touch the backs of them. then we release them back into their watery homes! Some of these tiny lobster looking things are fast and furious. Others are NOT and we like to catch those ones! Now it's tradition when we go to dekoevend park- play, swing, and catch crawdads!

The Parade

Image
Today was a great and HOT day for a parade but, it was great nonetheless! Our Co chapter participated in the Wheat Ridge parade! All went pretty well too! I have to say, since it was our FIRST time- it couldn't have been better but, Next time... I'm thinking a bit Bigger deal should be made- maybe a ride on float for about 15 people, some poles with long streamers on them that people walking can wave around, more pamphlets, more candy, more pass along cards etc... We did get our message out which was : Support Adoption- It's a Miracle! And not everyone in the crowd was really cool with it- but most were nice! I just find it baffling that some find adoption so- TABOO or terrible- when it is the exact opposite- It's Amazing and full of Love. Birth mothers don't place because they don't want- they place because they want more for their babies! There are so many MYTHS that are unfounded in the general media about adoption and I'm working hard to stop anti- a...

Aria's 3rd B-day!!!

Image
We had such a Blast at her Party!!! She had tons of fun dressing up and feeling like a REAL Fairy Princess! My friend and I made this tee for her special day! My mom, dara, Mom-in-law, Kellie and I made this fairy princess castle cake:) Which everyone enjoyed- Especially the birthday girl! She opened lots of presents and loved her cards too! The friends played games and made crowns and fairy wands at craft stations and everyone left with wings, a tutu (most of which i made) and a tiny crown comb. We will never forget those we celebrated with! It was so amazing! more photos will be on my FB page soon:) Thanks everyone for making it so wonderful!

Date Night!

Image
So, this may sound silly to some people but, On our anniversary day we went on a double date with our friends and played Mini Golf! I hadn't played for a year or so since we lived in Henderson at King Putts. I enjoyed getting cool shots with my camera (of course) and being just slightly sharp on the side of Cheesy! I love the effects of keeping your shutter open longer than normal. It makes this small waterfall look like something more spectacular! And of course , B has to get some Credit for his Talladega Nights Shirt. (sorry if it offends some people) But that's how we roll! (and i bought it for him so, I'm to blame or thank!) I was leading the pack of us four peeps the whole game except for the last 2 holes! Then Brandon BEAT me. It didn't help that him and our friends were all making coughing/choking noises while i was trying to putt! Stinkers! B only beat me by 2 so, i will win next time and it's all in fun. We are really not that competitive! Then we went ...

sharing and multitasking!

Image
Yesterday, we had a nice day and enjoyed the sprinkling rain and bursts of sunlight! Aria and Brielle LOVE playing outside and sharing everything! During our ice cream break, Aria decided to help me pull the tree shoots out of the back yard lawn... apparently, she is fantastic at multi-tasking!!! they even share treats:) and then laugh about how funny it was to lick the cone at the same time! There's nothing cuter than a messy face on a little girl who is almost 3! (in 2 weeks) And Brielle is such a big girl and hardly makes much of a mess anymore. She's 4.5 going on 16!!! So she thinks anyways! Well, We have lots of prep work to do for Aria's B-day and the family coming into town here pretty quickly! Hopefully, i will be able to post as we go but, if not, don't fret, just find me on FB! *keep reading about us and check out our sidebar for all our other adoption friends who are all waiting for a miracle through adoption!
