Aren't we the coolest pirates ever? Nah, we try though!   So Glad our special boy had a great day! We always have a BIG party for our kiddos. It's not about how many people come or how many presents they get- Its about the amount of FUN they have, no matter the cost/ time/ effort! I believe in Celebrating every moment and the kids are only young once, then its over! So Party On!

why i do what i do...

I'm not a perfect person and I often put my foot in my mouth! I have been asked several times why I am doing a BIRTH PARENT RETREAT when I'm not a birth parent... So, hopefully, you can understand WHY after you read this post! When I was teenager,  I woke up one morning in a world of PAIN! I thought my insides were dying and I went to the ER. My mom held my hand and they did an ultrasound and found out I had a ruptured ovarian cyst that was causing the pain. Often times, women have these but they don't really   feel them as dramatically or they are smaller when they rupture. Other times, women just think its the pain associated with aunt flo! But as the tech did my ultrasound he also saw LOTS of scar tissue/endomitrial tissue on the lining of my uterus. The Dr. was frank with me and said- I will probably never have children or it will be very difficult if I do have them. Either way the outcome seemed so grim at the time.  My mom had this CD she ...

Flashback Friday

To Halloween and our visit with Jessica and Daylen! The kids loved playing with both Jessica and Daylen! You know kids are the best filters for BAD/ODD people, right? So, if they can see and feel love in your eyes- you are free to jump all over them and play till they peel you off!* Thanks for being very patient with the girls, guys! We attended a Church Halloween Trunk-Or-Treat, went to a dance and had dinner with friends and played games and such. It was relaxing at times and stressful at times too ( way too many parties and cold). Jessica and I handled this beast of a pumpkin carving project! Food Network Challenge- here we come! Bring it! ( okay not really- don't call i won't answer) Gavin IS the BEST Tootsie Roll EVER! I let the Girls PICK what they wanted to be this year- Brielle chose Sleeping Beauty! Aria chose Ariel. Both girls got their costumes for their birthdays but, i had to severely alter Aria's and add 7 inches to Brielle's so, i got a bit creative with ...

My latest Adoption Poem

Image
This is what has been in my heart. I am the luckiest Woman- Ever! Please click to enlarge. This morning, I read this to Brandon for the First time ever. Aria and Brielle were snuggled on our bed and after i finished reading Aria says" Mom, you got sumping drippin' from your eye onto your nose!" So cute. I told her they are happy tears! Sometimes, people don't think about what single parenting does to a child- in the long run. Many children grow up without a father or sometimes a mother and it makes a HUGE impact on their lives forever. Choosing to think about the child first, is what sets Birth Mothers apart in this world. They are AMAZING! I'm forever blessed b/c of Jane's Decision! Thank You for Eternity!

Super SIZE...

Image
SIX!!! Yep, I'm hitting my weight loss goals and I'm sitting at a size 6 looking towards a 4 in the coming weeks. I've lost 25 lbs so far! The reason why i am so excited about this is b/c through this accomplishment I have been able to focus my energies on other tasks- NOT on feeling bad about my body. Here's a great quote by Stephen R. Covey from his book Spiritual Roots of Human Relations about what I'm feeling... "A great many men and women, for one reason or another, have a tendency to overeat and thus are rather heavy. It makes many of them feel self-conscious and ugly, and it depresses their entire spirit. What an emotional and spiritual transformation would begin to take place if they could get back to normal weight through a strict program of self-mastery. They would not only look better, but they would also feel better and would thereby treat others better. They would grow in a "consciousness of victory over self." And with this...

The Nuggets Game

Image
So, this pic is from the nuggets game against the Knicks. We went with some awesome clients of Brandons! They are totally cool and would love to hang out again! now below is the game against the BUCKS.. Here's what went down... some balling and some more Rocky's Sons! Rocky ( in yellow) decides to punk out a crazy dude dressed up in a reindeer outfit cheering for the bucks ( notice brandon sitting by the crouching deer) so Rocky takes matters into his own hands whoever will donate a buck -will pay for Rocky to beat on the loud, menacing Deer ( buck fan) Many people stepped up to donate and it caught on for the whole rest of the night! Until Rocky chased the Deer away. Not pictured is a 6 year old following the Buck out of the walkway, swinging the bat at him. It was hilarious. Why? B/c the Buck was Jesse and Brandon was his sidekick!!! Yep, then after the costume change the boys came back and sat in seats on the opposite side and cheered for the Nuggets ( who totally shut them ...
